Medical Receptionist / Relief Surgical Secretary

  • Craving a role with loads of people contact?
  • Able to multi-task?
  • Supportive team environment
  • Stable company, permanent position

We all crave a job where we feel our work matters and that we are making a difference. It helps to be part of a great team, friendly, supportive... all the good qualities that make you feel valued and as part of an organisation that is going somewhere...

That's how we would describe our team here at St Marks Breast Centre. Based in Epsom, we are New Zealand's market leader in breast medicine and we strive to deliver an excellent individual service, making a difference in our client's lives. We seek an experienced Medical Receptionist who is also capable of extending themselves to provide cover for our Surgical Secretary.

We have an opportunity to join our team and be the face of our practice, in a full time capacity. This is an ideal role for a polished and professional individual - someone who has a positive, can-do personality and is adept at juggling multiple tasks at once.

First and foremost, you must be a genuine people-person as there is a high focus on client interaction. You are empathetic, calm under pressure and are happy to support your colleagues with anything that may be needed from time to time. It's important that you have worked on medical reception before so you understand the demands of answering a busy phone while greeting someone at the front desk and being able to do it all with a smile!

There is the opportunity to grow within the role and learn new skills because as our Relief Surgical Secretary, you will also be responsible for the preparation, planning and running of clinics, clinical and pre-op meetings; preparation for surgery, and management of theatre bookings.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Exemplary customer service skills. You will take pride in your ability to deal with clients in a clear and empathetic way.
  • Enthusiasm and confidence, with excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and experience with Medical Software, particularly Profile software, (however Profile training can be provided).
  • Efficient time management and punctuality.
  • A healthy ‘can do’ attitude who enjoys being part of a team.

Previous medical experience is preferable so you can make appointments and understand the terminology,

So join our team and love what you do every day.
