Your new company
This well-established and well-known non profit company across New Zealand is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the head office in Wellington. This is a full time, permanent role

Your new role
This is a varied role which requires the ability to relate extremely well with a wide variety of people. Confidence using Excel to an intermediate level and an excellent level of attention to detail are essential for this role

  • End to end management of all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions;
  • Reconciliation of payments and receipts;
  • Processing and reconciliations of all bank accounts;
  • Ensuring all banking mandates and authorisation levels are updated;
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Ensuring coding via Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable is aligned with budgets
  • Providing back-up for the PAYE and GST filing;
  • Assist with the preparation and process for annual and interim audits


What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a problem solver with the ability to work independently with little supervision. Ideally candidates will have an accounting qualification and/or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
