LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Tegel Foods is New Zealand’s market-leading poultry producer, involved in the breeding, hatching, processing, marketing and distribution of poultry products across New Zealand. The IANZ Accredited Christchurch Microbiology Laboratory is responsible for providing technical support to internal customers and testing a wide variety of product and environmental samples.

 We currently have an opportunity for a friendly, skilled person to work within our busy Laboratory. Days of work are Monday to Friday.

 As part of a small dynamic team, the key responsibilities of this role include sample preparation and analysis to relevant external standards, maintaining accreditation to ISO 17025:2005 and involvement in continuous workplace improvement and projects. This varied role is hands on with responsibilities encompassing technical operations, quality assurance and customer service.

 The successful applicant will be organised, have a strong focus on quality and a high degree of motivation. They will be able to develop good working relationships and have excellent communication skills. Ideally, they will have prior experience within an IANZ Accredited Microbiology Laboratory. New Zealand work experience is essential for this role.
