Utility worker or labourer, required to join our East Tamaki team.

The role

We are looking for experienced labourers who enjoy working outdoors, and don't mind getting their hands dirty. Responsibilities include a range of general labouring work, including trench digging, equipment and cable installation and moving of materials.

You will enjoy working outdoors, be capable of heavy lifting, digging, and other manual tasks. You must be flexible with working hours, happy to do overtime to ensure the team meets their deadlines, reliable, be a good communicator and have a safety-first attitude.

This role is a great introduction to the power contracting industry and may lead the way into other areas for the right candidate.

All candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing.

Duties:

  • Full class 1, and 2 licence
  • An excellent safety record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical fitness to be able to dig trenches and holes
  • An ability to use your own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Class 4 and 5 licence, and experience operating excavators and forklifts are an advantage, but not essential
  • Adhering to best practice
  • Compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar 'labouring' role
  • Appropriate licence's
  • Fit and physically capable of carrying out duties
