Trainee Line Mechanic Distribution

Are you looking for a new and exciting career path with a great local employer in the beautiful King Country and surrounding areas?!  We have some great opportunities for 2019 because we’re looking for trainee Line Mechanics to join our teams.

At the Lines Company we pride ourselves on employing high calibre talent and have a track record in producing trainees that achieve Top Trainee Awards at the Industry Training Centre. 

We’re particular though – we know from previous experience that successful trainees have the following attributes: 

  • Good health and safety principles and practices
  • Fantastic work ethic, great customer service, a can-do attitude and great team player
  • Are active learners, capable of and keen to achieve the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) – Level 4 (you’ll probably already have at least NCEA Level 2 in Math and English or be able to demonstrate that you have equivalent numerical and verbal reasoning skills)
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
  • Flexible around work patterns including working overtime and standby when needed.
  • Live locally - because part of your job is to be able to respond to faults in a timely manner - within the boundary of our distribution area and within 30 minutes’ drive from either Taumarunui or Te Kuiti.
  • Current and clean Class 1 Drivers Licence, Class 2 would be beneficial

 Our part of the deal:

  • We will provide support and fully funded training to allow you to become fully qualified as a Line Mechanic in our highly qualified team.
