Terminal/Pipeline Operator

Our client are one of the largest International Energy Companies and are currently seeking a Terminal Operator to join their Christchurch based operations across both their Woolston and Lyttleton terminals.

This company has been established within in the New Zealand market for over 120 years and is one of the largest companies within the Oil & Gas industry.

We are seeking candidates that posses a strong mechanical apititude, an ability to learn quickly and proven track record of safety awareness. My client are open to candidates with no previous expereince in terminal operations so if you have these qualities and are looking for a new career path to really sink your teeth into then do not hesitate to APPLY.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Cross trained between Lyttelton and Woolston Day and Night shifts.
  • Performing tank changes for pipeline receipts as well as supply tanks to the Truck Load Rack.
  • Dipping of tanks.
  • Monitoring of underground slops tanks.
  • Storm water management
  • Completing daily logs of all product movement activities, quality checks and maintenance requests for all operations.
  • Ensure water samples are taken and sent to the laboratory for testing and results filed/reported.
  • Maintain frequent communication between both facilities.
  • Maintain and support a high level of Terminal Housekeeping.
  • Operate the terminal and pipelines as per all operating procedures, and correctly record all required information.
To be successful:
  • Commitment to Health & Safety.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Secondary/ High School Diploma or college level degree perfered.
  • Experience in Terminal Operations perfered but not required.
  • Very good interpersonal skills.
  • Works independently with moderate supervision.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
