Company Management Accountant including Payroll

The company

A highly successful, market leading and nationwide recruitment company, working in a niche area with two business units, is looking for an experienced in house management Accountant who has strong analytical ability and can step into this position and hit the ground running.

A little about the role:

In this role you will report to the Directors, providing a solid service including management reporting while working alongside the two business units as an integral team member.

Day to day duties include:

  • Xero - all functions
  • Accounts Payable and Receivables - including processing and reconciliations
  • Work proactively with client base on any outstanding debts
  • Full GL maintenance i.e. reconciliation and posting of journals/accruals as required
  • Full payroll function using Smart payroll
  • Processing payments to contractors
  • Preparation of GST returns and reconciliations
  • Preparation of PAYE returns and reconciliations
  • Keeping record of invoices paid and invoices outstanding
  • Preparation of monthly management reports
  • Fixed Asset management
  • Monthly and year end reconciliations
  • Work close with Directors to provide key information in decision making
  • Provide solid, accurate and factual information – proactive business analysis

A little about you

This position as expected with a medium sized company, will be hands on as well as supporting proactive growth. You will work with our top tier Accountants at Crowe Horwath.

With that in mind, you will need:

  • Three+ years Accounting experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in a results-driven environment
  • Analytical and outcome focused by nature – keen to ensure company, team and individual success
  • Previous experience in client management and customer service
  • Professional, credible and trustworthy, encouraging respect and loyalty of all stakeholders
  • To be proactive, energetic, enthusiastic and positive in all dealings with colleagues and customers
  • Tenacity in pursuing goals, show focus in the face of opposition and ensure personal goals are aligned with the company objectives
  • To be highly competent with both Xero and Microsoft Products, especially Excel
