Assistant Financial Services Accountant

fixed term - two years

We have a new fixed term, full time role that’s just become available as an Assistant Financial Services Accountant. We are looking for a highly dedicated and motivated professional to join our talented finance team now to work closely with our Tairawhiti Roads Team.

About the role:

We are looking for candidates with the following experience:

  • Experience with monthly financial reporting and analysis of business units
  • Public Benefit Entity (PBE) reporting standards
  • Knowledge on GST, WHT, Buyer Created Tax Invoice
  • Experience in procurement and contract management
  • Processing journal entries
  • Experience in Grant milestone reporting and administration

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • To be ACA or working towards CA designation with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ)
  • At least three year’s practical experience in an accounting role is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills as you will be working between different business units
  • To be a high performing team player with a positive outlook
  • Excellent numerical & analytical skills and attention to detail
  • To be well organised and committed to providing excellent service & results
  • Able to multi-task and innovate
  • Passionate about our community and Local Government
