Legal Secretary - Environment & Planning

Kensington Swan is not your ordinary law firm. Our focus is on the people who make us who we are—our teams and our clients. We value excellence through diversity, creative thinking and complete commitment to our clients.

We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to take a senior support role with our high-performing Environment & Planning team in our Viaduct Harbour offices. In addition to supporting a team of six in Auckland, you will enjoy being part of a highly dynamic and successful national team of 11, led by three female partners.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, with great time management skills, and a strong client focus. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with clients and support the team in delivering an unbeatable client experience.

Where you will add real value is your ability to run the Environment & Planning practice by:

  • proactively planning to assist the team in preparing for hearings and court dates, as well as diary management and travel plans
  • liaising directly with clients to assist our team in delivering its work, and taking the initiative in meeting deadlines
  • assisting with the planning and co-ordinating of functions and seminars for the team and clients
  • being an integral member of the team and the core liaison for clients when the Partners are not available
  • liaising with your Wellington counterpart, as this team is truly national in approach.

The right person for this role will have:

  • a proven ability to provide effective team support and coordination
  • experience liaising directly with clients and a proven customer services focus
  • strong skills using Microsoft Word, plus experience with PowerPoint and Excel
  • a ‘can do’ attitude, showing flexibility and initiative
  • a sense of fun!
