Safe Staffing Programme Manager

Full time 1.0 FTE - Permanent Position

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled, clinically experienced senior registered nurse to make a positive difference to nurses and patients through Safe Staffing initiatives at TDHB. This is a new role developed as a result of the NZNO and DHB MECA negotiations to implement the Care Capacity Demand Management(CCDM) programme by June 2021.
 
CCDM is designed to provide sustainable solutions to safe staffing issues by matching patient demand to the care that is provided by the DHB staff. The programme is about improving the work environment for staff, care of patients and overall organisational efficiency.
 
The duties of this role include:
  • Providing leadership and direction to the staff involved in the CCDM and Safe Staffing initiatives across the organisation.
  • Provides leadership to the Patient Acuity Data role.
  • Develop and oversee the CCDM implementation plan.
  • Engage positively with key DHB stakeholders and our union partners.
  • Facilitate analysis of data to inform improvement decisions within the DHB.
 
Applicants must have the following:
  • New Zealand Nursing Council registration and Annual Practising Certificate.
  • A relevant Post Graduate Qualification, Working towards Masters is desired.
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate nursing experience and an up to date Nursing portfolio. Evidence of engagement in PDRP at an advanced level preferred.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of CCDM and Safe Staffing concepts.
  • Knowledge of the implications of Treaty of Waitangi with a commitment to bi-culturalism.
  • Ability to work in a complex changing environment and able to juggle multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
