Health & Safety Advisor

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our EastPack Health & Safety Team to champion the ongoing development of HSE across our operations.

The key focus of this role is to provide health and safety advice and support to all our regional packhouses and orchard operations, ensuring health & safety policies and procedures are being met and that they align with best practice.

Reporting to the H&S Manager, this role provides a crucial link between our health and safety systems, procedures and the successful implementation of those in the field.  You will need proven experience in a dedicated health and safety role and an in depth understanding of current best practice in health and safety, quality and employee development.

Our ideal candidate will be pragmatic, observant and possess strong relationship building skills, as well as:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in workplace risk identification, assessment and treatment.
  • Able to convey information and ideas in a clear, succinct and effective manner, both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to identify necessary improvements and support the successful implementation of change, by gaining the acceptance of staff.
  • Able to develop team-work, motivation and staff skill sets to meet the challenges of a changing environment.
  • Good computer literacy in Microsoft word and excel (medium to advanced).
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines and competing priorities.
  • The ability to build good relationships to establish credibility with managers and customers (internal).
  • A formal health and safety related tertiary qualification (minimum level 4 cert) and a current drivers licence.

You’ll also need to enjoy working in a fast paced environment however can also be flexible with the highs and lows of seasonal work.
