Techweek19 Festival Coordinator

Join a small, tight-knit team that’s passionate about telling New Zealand’s inspiring tech stories to the world. We’re looking for a Festival Coordinator to manage the development of the Techweek19 programme nationwide.

Techweek Overview

Techweek is New Zealand’s annual festival of innovation. In May 2018, the festival featured 540 events in 24 locations across the country, engaging thousands of New Zealanders  

The role

We’re looking for a team player to curate the Techweek19 festival programme, working effectively within our small team and with a wider network of regional coordinators across the country to bring Techweek19 to life.


As well as your team and existing suppliers, you will work closely with Techweek’s regional partners to help them deliver a strategically driven programme across the country during Techweek19. You will also be required to plan and manage some events within that programme including the Techweek19 launch event.

Key responsibilities

The Festival Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Coordination – working with regional coordinators and event organisers across the country to ensure the Techweek19 programme hits strategic objectives and KPIs, this includes managing monthly meetings, regular communications and distributing shared resources

  • Event Management – Arranging events including the Techweek19 launch event and training workshops

  • Support – assisting the management team where possible to hit their objectives, including administrative tasks, risk management, post event reporting and reviews

Success factors

We’re looking for a team player with:

  • A minimum of at least two years experience in a similar role

  • Experience working with project management tools and event planning

  • Excellent working with suppliers with merchandise, print and distribution

The ideal candidate is someone with:

  • Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to engage and influence

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • A professional, confident and articulate presentation style and approach
