Collections Registrar – Special Project Whangarei Art Museum

Expressions of Interest

Whangarei Art Museum requires a contracted consultant or fixed term employee to take on a role as collections registrar. The primary project requirements are to:

  1. Undertake a complete inventory and catalogue of the Whangarei Art Museum works, to be entered into the gallery’s Vernon CMS database.
  2. Assistance to update the WAM collections policy.
  3. Direction of designated WAM personnel around collections procedures.

The applicant will need to have experience working in a gallery or museum and with particular expertise in computerised collections management. In particular, experience with Vernon CMS software is required. 

WAM is flexible in how this project is carried out and will work with the successful applicant to agree a programme which suits the applicant and the gallery. The project could be completed full time over a period of months, or part time over a longer period. Although attendance at the gallery will be required, it may be possible to complete the project through some remote access.
