Financial Accountant

We are now looking for a newly qualified CA / CPA (or studying towards these) Financial Accountant to join our well-established but rapidly evolving business.

Based at our newly built head office in East Tamaki, this role will directly report to the Senior Financial Accountant.

The position's primary purpose is to provide greater insight and reporting capabilities to our nationwide operation, to allow better informed decisions to be made on a more timely basis. You will also support the Senior Financial Accountant in a range of financial functions. These could include but are not limited to:

- Preparation of monthly management reports, variance analysis to budgets and performance review.

- Preparation of the Annual Statutory Financial Statement and audit preparation by maintaining work-files and schedules to support balance sheet values.

- Cash flow management.

- Month end process control including review over department deliverables.

- Preparation, analysis and reporting on various adhoc projects and areas of interest. 

- Other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.

To be to be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related field (preferred),
  • Newly qualified CA / CPA or studying towards would be an advantage,
  • Strong IFRS and reporting standards knowledge,
  • Proven experience in the areas of function listed,
  • Strong logical and conceptual reasoning skills – data analysis skills an advantage but we will offer right candidate training advancement.
  • Ability to interact with a range of internal customers, including department leadership and senior managers in a confident and professional manner.
  • Impeccable interpersonal and communication skills, with an outgoing nature and the energy and enthusiasm to drive stakeholder buy-in at all levels
